Exploration, Carroll...

The water tower base at Carroll on the abandoned Sumpter Valley Railway mainline between Whitney and Tipton.

The mainline with ties still in place. The rails were pulled in 1947.

An old Hemingray insulator from the phone and telegraph lines that paralleled the mainline.

Broken joint bars and a fragment of a brake hanger.

A well preserved tie with some of the spikes still in place. One spike was pulled on each side to remove the rails.

One of the better preserved sections of right-of-way, especially considering there has been no work done in well over sixty years.
